In case it's hard to find in your area, I got some back issues of Nyapple on Amazon Japan!! https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/4398298126?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

From the machine translation: "The Guinness World Record-holding super cat "Mochimaru" makes his first appearance with his increasingly popular younger brother "Hanamaru". This book is packed with the charms of these two cats, from their fateful encounter to a special cute photo collection and a virtual room where you can feel like a servant."

Nyapple needs a US branch IMMEDIATELY

And thank you as always~!!!! <3333333333

Getting an inside scoop of the design process and your decision making for Pouch 2 is soooo inspirational. I can't even fathom how difficult it is to think of all these small details (like the many iterations of the Niche Stationery Reviews—which by the way, ended up looking fantastic) to make each section/article feel fully fleshed out. The process really makes it clear that you're thoughtful about each and every step, and your passion for it really shows!

I think that's one of my favorite things about this zine, and zines in general, because they really are made with love! Another thing I really loved was the inspiration from magazine layouts like Nyapple! I was a long-time reader of magazines like FRUiTS and Gothic Lolita bible in my time (I think I'm revealing my age a bit here 💀) but I totally feel the vibe of being like a kid in a candy store!! Honestly, I felt that way with Pouch 1 already so I'm super stoked to see how these elements are even more apparent in 2+!

Congratulations on everything in your life updates too!!! I think everything here deserves some form of congratulations and/or praise haha because with the busyness of life, it's hard squeezing in the time to spend time with family, loved ones, or to be in a space that helps further our creativity even more.

I think I got a little carried away with the urge to comment about almost every section (lol) but I thoroughly loved reading through all of it. Thank you for your hard work as always!

Shu!!! Oh my gosh, thank you soooooooo much for the kind support!! 🥹 omgggg I forgot about FRUiTS!! (And lolol I am well into my 30s, it's a safe space here for folks of all ages 😆) I never read Gothic Lolita Bible but I'm looking up scans right now and I loveeeeeee!! The taste level displayed 😌

Phew and you are sooo right about the busyness of life!! My partner keeps telling me I need to celebrate when I get 5/7 things done on my to-do list, rather than lament the missing 2 lol. Juggling it all is a challenge!! But also feeling so lucky that I'm able to do such fun and fulfilling work these days 💗

I'm so glad you enjoyed reading everything too!! Your comment warmed my heart!! I always psyche myself out right before sending out my newsletter lolll, like "is this interesting?? this feels too long?? umm I'm talking about processes and color modes, will anyone read this??" so I really appreciate hearing when things resonate 💞

I hereby express BE CAREFUL with RGB. Some colors will be literally impossible to print so just test print early with anything approaching neon levels of brightness. For muted colors, probably fine

LOL thank you Ryan, warning is hereby received!! 😆 Yeah it's a dangerous game I'm playing LOL. I print a lot of stickers, photos, graphics etc at home in RGB, so I think I have a feel for what RGB colors are suuuuper out of gamut! And after I'm done laying everything out, I'm probably going to do another version of the mag with CMYK colors and compare how the two come out (if I have enough time). Interestingly, I think the real win of "designing in RGB" might just be that I don't get soooo hung up on the colors in the beginning of design mode!! Whereas starting in CMYK gets me overly color-obsessed AND GRUMPY from the beginning, which is not a great place to embark on a design 😂
